Phiphen Media Partners II LP makes opportunistic investments across the capital structure of film, television, video game, podcast and other media projects. The fund sources packaged projects and development ventures through a wide range of industry contacts, analyzing the financial, sales, partnerships and production plan to determine the investment profile and potential of every deal.
The fund is organized primarily for the objective and purpose of generating strong absolute returns by investing in debt and equity securities of independent films, but may also invest in debt and equity securities of other entertainment and media projects and opportunities (including, but not limited to, television shows, reality shows, docuseries, TED talks, video games, podcasts, social media platforms, documentary financing companies, talent management companies, finishing funds, related marketing plans and other items in the general entertainment and media industries), whose production management or Affiliates have demonstrated prior success, early traction, or marketable artistic merit, but may also make other opportunistic investments in other individual film productions and other entertainment and media projects.
Deals will be monitored by the producers at the Manager, Phiphen LLC, and its affiliated General Partner entity. The fund has engaged the advisory sevices of Russ Riggins to vet the deal structure and financial models of all submissions. Russ has been instrumental in financing dozens of film and television projects as an executive at various companies including Boat Rocker Media, Millennium Media, and Summit Entertainment. He is also formerly the head of the tax credit advisory group at TPC, a well-respected, specialty lender and financial services firm.
